Auston Legal is proud to be working exclusively on a new role with a highly regarded and respected underwriting and claims team. Based in the heart of Lloyd’s and with both a strong and long-standing reputation in the marketplace, our client belongs to one of the largest commercial lines insurers in the US, comprising of over 50 operating units worldwide.
As part of the growing team in London, they are looking to recruit a Senior Claims Adjuster to work closely with the Senior Management and Underwriting teams.
Key responsibilities include:
To adjust, settle and manage claims arising on policies underwritten by the client.
To appoint and manage service providers, including developing strategies for claim resolution.
To liaise with brokers, co-insurers and customers on claims related issues.
Work in conjunction with Senior Management and representatives of the Underwriting teams to ensure the smooth operation of business and effective communication is in place through all areas of the business.
Acting as a technical referral for complex legal insurance issues as required.
Reviewing and advising on insurance-related contractual documentation and service level agreements.
Advising on Insurance Policy wording related issues where required.
Advising on legal/regulatory insurance issues within the Claims Management Team and the wider business where requested and required.
Key requirements include:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience of insurance and the operation of the London Market and international market.
Experience of working within Industry, either by currently working in-house or via successful client secondments.
Ability to communicate and explain complex issues clearly and succinctly.
Ability to build trust and effectively network both internally and externally.
Professional and approachable with a "can do" attitude to successfully interact with senior management/colleagues/extemal suppliers.
