The Client 
Our client is a national insurance firm with a strong professional indemnity offering across the regions. 
 
The team advise on all kinds of professional indemnity claims, including claims against solicitors, conveyancers, surveyors, architects and engineers. They also advise on complex policy coverage issues. 
 
The team have a strong client list, including composite and London Market insurers, and have achieved significant growth in the regions in recent years. 
 
The Role: 
The Professional Indemnity team wish to recruit a lawyer with at least 6 years’ PQE to help service the team’s increasing workload. There is potential to focus on certain claim types, especially claims against solicitors and construction professionals. 
 
The role will involve running a caseload of professional indemnity claims and assisting partners with high value/multi-party claims. The successful candidate could expect to be involved in business development initiatives from the very outset. 
 
 
 
 
Key requirements: 
Previous professional indemnity experience (6+ PQE) 
An ability to prioritise workload 
An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports 
Ability to pay attention to detail 
Ability to work with case management systems 
The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers 
Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx 
 
Desirable: 
Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole. 
Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise).
