The Client
Our client is an international insurance practice which is very well known for its work across the insurance sector, with real strength in the professional indemnity sector. Their regional professional indemnity offering has grown tremendously across all claim types since 2019, and this trend is set to continue into 2023. This is testament to the Partners’ ability to win new business, nurture talent and create an enjoyable and effective working environment.
Our client is consistently instructed by the majority of the major composite insurers and their regional construction PI team handle a wide range of matters worth millions of pounds.
The Role:
Our client’s Professional Risks team wish to recruit a Solicitor (NQ-5 PQE) to assist the existing members of their 20-strong team of construction-focused professional indemnity lawyers in Bristol.
The role will involve running a caseload of construction-focused professional indemnity claims as well as assisting partners with high value and multi-party claims.
Should the successful candidate so wish, there is potential to gain exposure to other kinds of professional indemnity claims, including claims against lawyers and financial services professionals.
There is early client contact and likely to be significant secondment opportunities in the future.
Key requirements:
Previous insurance litigation experience (NQ-5 PQE)
An ability to prioritise workload
An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
Ability to pay attention to detail
Ability to work with case management systems
The personal skills to deal with major and expensive litigation, including liaising with senior claims handlers
Legal qualification (Solicitor/FCILEx)
Desirable:
Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole.
Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise).
