The Client 
Our client is a highly regarded insurance practice known for their work in the property damage sector. They have one of the largest teams in the market and Manchester is a key location for their regional property damage offering. 
 
The team act for numerous composite insurers and carry out all kinds of property damage work, including complex liability claims and subrogated recoveries arising from the full range of insurable risks. The team are also known for advising on policy coverage and handling pure construction disputes. 
 
The role: 
Our client wishes to recruit an experienced lawyer to handle a wide-ranging caseload of their own and support Partners with complex matters. The successful candidate can expect to handle liability claims and coverage disputes. There is potential to handle complex recoveries too. 
 
 
Key requirements: 
Previous commercial insurance/commercial litigation experience (4 – 8 PQE) 
An ability to prioritise workload 
An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports 
Ability to pay attention to detail 
Ability to work with case management systems 
The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers 
Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx 
 
Desirable: 
Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole 
Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise)
