The Role
The Latin American practice, which sits within the International Risks team is seeking a Senior Associate to join the team in London. The team is part of the firm's market leading Insurance practice, acting for many of the biggest insurance brands across the globe supporting (re)insurers with their most complex and high-profile international coverage cases. The team advises insurers across various classes of business, including (but not limited to) international casualty, international property, energy, kidnap and ransom, political risks and trade credit. Whilst the team handle losses across the globe, there is a particularly strong Latin American capability. The team have acted on some of the largest and most high-profile coverage matters to hit the London Insurance Market over recent years and are looking for ambitious and commercial insurance lawyers to join them.
You will handle a variety of high-value and complex coverage issues while also engaging in marketing and chargeable work. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality and timely outputs to clients, ensuring excellent client service, and aligning with agreed working practices and service level agreements. You will contribute to the development and enhancement of the team's services, support, processes, and procedures. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement, you will enthusiastically share knowledge with colleagues and take responsibility for aspects of team development, such as managing intranet pages, conducting training and inductions, and implementing process improvements. Additionally, you will capture and compile the required Management Information in accordance with established practices for clients. You will also participate in client development and marketing initiatives.
Key requirements:
PQE 5+.
Ideally qualified under Civil Law jurisdiction
Experience of complex coverage matters.
Keen to be involved in marketing and chargeable work.
Excellent organisational and communication skills (both orally and in writing).
Ability to think strategically, to adapt to shifting priorities and adapt plans accordingly.
